So, a few of us decided to hit the slopes yesterday evening at a place in Pennsylvania. I'd been wanting to try snowboarding for a while, and they had a special going on for lessons and lift tickets, so I went ahead to gave it a try.
The class went...okay. The instructor mainly taught us the basic methods of toe-side and heel-side turns. the only problem was, the slope was so level that it wasn't really possible to get very far. Once class ended, we all met inside for dinner and a few pitchers of beer.
After food, we hit the slopes again. I had decided that I wanted to try some runs with more incline to them. The good news: I was occasionally getting a chance to actually try the things I learned in class. The bad news: The rest of the time, I was either out of control or eating it face first. Several wipeouts and one mean throbbing headache later, I decided to give up and recover before the trip back home.
I honestly can't say if I ever plan on trying snowboarding again...but if I do, I'm definitely getting a helmet. x.x
